Spotlight On: Three amazing modern fireplace installations
November 17th at 12:00am
If you follow us on social media (we’re active on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest), you'll know we publish plenty of exciting posts about our recent projects, the latest in fireplace technology, and ever-charming antique restorations.
But we're conscious that sometimes, our followers require even more information than we can provide on social media.
That's why we've started the Spotlight On series here on our blog — as a means to provide you with additional information about our work, and the fires we use, that might otherwise get left out on a social post.
In this first entry to the series below, we’ve placed three popular residential installs under the spotlight.
If you like what you see, feel free to click the button next to each fire to be sent to the relevant product page.
And don't forget, we’re always happy to have a chat! So don't hesitate to get in touch via our contact details at the bottom of this page.
We hope you enjoy.
At this wonderful residential property in Greenwich, the Grate Expectations team installed the Maestro 105/2 Eco Wave.
The Maestro 105/2 Eco Wave is a contemporary, two-sided corner gas fire — dubbed by DRU as ‘the ultimate corner fire’.
It features many great benefits, such as full remote control, expansive views of the extremely realistic log stacks and fire displays, with their high dancing flames (for added atmosphere), and a choice of refined interior finishes available to best suit your living space.
The Maestro 105/2 Eco Wave can be fitted almost anywhere in your home with the DRU PowerVent® flue system, plus it boasts an ‘A’ rating for its efficiency — an important aspect for the modern buyer.
On this particular project we teamed up with our friends at Richard Smyth, who helped create the complete marble base, and the team at Concrete LCDA, who worked the concrete cladding to an exceptional standard — both part of our network of partners who support us in delivering a complete package to our clients.
A Minimalist Modern Fire
The Stovax Gazco Reflex 75T, with balanced or conventional flue options
view balanced flue specifications view conventional flue specificationsFor this installation at a modern residential property, the client wanted a fire that would match the tone of the space — tranquil and minimal.
The Stovax Gazco Reflex 75T was an obvious choice, with its large glass front resulting in a truly elegant, contemporary design.
It boasts plenty of modern features, such as full remote control, anti-reflective glass for a clear view, and glowing LEDs within the ember bed for enhanced realism.
With three burners, it provides superb visuals with impressive fire displays, akin to a real wood-burning experience.
A choice of frame and lining options allows you to tailor the fire to perfectly match your living space, while conventional or balance flue options are available to best fit the architecture of your home.
A classic corner fire at a residential property; the client sought a focal point where they could sit and relax. For this reason, we recommended the Jøtul F370.
The Jøtul F371 is a large wood burner characterised by its modern design, where the combustion chamber sits on a pedestal. This means the client can relax as they perform the soothing ritual of tending to the fire, while the pedestal design helps tick the focal-point checkbox.
We were confident this recommendation would be received warmly, as this model is a re-design of the only wood stove in the world to have won the prestigious international ”Red Dot Design Award: Best of the Best.”
Plus, with an easy to use air control system you’re practically ensured clean glass for that great view.
We owe recognition on this project to the great team and our friends at Poujoulat UK, who provided the the made-to-measure flue system.
